James Escher lives and writes in East Central Illinois, where he is organizer of a weekly poetry workshop, the Champaign-Urbana Poetry Group, and host of the monthly Poets at the Post open mic. His poems have most recently appeared in Pilcrow & Dagger, Pegasus, The Tishman Review, and Bear River Review. He was awarded the 2018 ACE Volunteer Award from Champaign County arts council 40 North for sharing his passion for poetry and spoken word in an engaging and supportive manner, for his dedication in creating a venue for writers of all levels to gather, discuss, interact and share their voice, for enthusiastically supporting this creative community and inspiring authors to read and display their craft and connect individuals from all walks of life.
